The think-tank Romanian Academic Society was born in1995. Founding membersof
SAR were mostly intellectuals who had been dissidentsin the
Communist regime or had joined the opposition against the continuationin
any form of Communist structures and mentalities in Romania.
Goals
To achieve and promote excellency in all academic fields
To network between Romanian experts and the Romanian Parliamentand
Government, in order to achieve a higher and more effective participationof
the intellectuals in the political process
To design, research and publish public policy proposals inorder to
contribute to the development and modernization of the Romanian society
